The what

The Norfolk Way Art Trail 2022 was a public art initiative showcasing large-scale sculptures inspired by local stories and landscapes across Norfolk.

The why

Norfolk County Council wanted to attract visitors during the off-peak season, installing artworks that would respond and reflect the ever-changing environment.

The how

Creative Giants were responsible for designing the submissions and commissioning process, installing the artworks and branding the project through web and graphic design.

Artists were selected through an open-call submissions process, allowing artists to display work who may ordinarily find it difficult to access public space exhibitions. This fair and transparent process was a key motivator for the Creative Giants team - reflecting our core values of promoting and championing under-represented artists.

The remote site locations required specialist installations and creative problem solving. Detailed architectural planning was also necessary to ensure the artworks’ impact was maximised throughout the trail, without compromising the safety of the public.

We love it because
  • It allowed us to amplify the voices and opportunities of emerging artists
  • It demonstrates our expertise in commissioning, installing and promoting public realm sculpture
  • It highlights our ability to install high-profile, high-quality sculpture in remote and diverse locations
